Do I need to speak Ilocano or Tagalog to play the game?
βΌ
No! Kailian is designed from the ground up for complete beginners, heritage learners, and diaspora families. Every card includes clear English gameplay effects alongside the native Ilocano term, international phonetic pronunciation, Tagalog equivalent, and ancient Kur-itan script. You will naturally acquire vocabulary as you execute strategic game actions.
What makes this game strictly Anti-AI?
βΌ
We firmly reject generative synthetic artwork. Every single illustration in Kailian was created by traditional Filipino printmakers using physical relief linocuts, hand-carved woodblocks, and genuine woven Binakol textiles photographed and digitized with historical fidelity. We believe ancestral heritage deserves authentic human hands.
Can I play the game solo, or is it multiplayer only?
βΌ
Kailian supports 1 to 4 players. It features a dedicated Solo Survival mode where you guide a fledgling coastal barrio against recurring seasonal monsoons and colonial trade sanctions, as well as a cooperative Ammoyo mode where players pool resources to complete ancestral monuments.

We offer friendly fulfillment hubs in the United States, Philippines, Canada, and the United Kingdom/EU. Shipping will be charged in our post-campaign pledge manager (BackerKit) based on actual carrier rates, ensuring no surprise customs duties for our backers in North America and the Philippines.
